In 2003 Gardenform was hired to resurrect an old fieldstone farm-wall, which quickly inspired a full masterplan design and construction for this rural property in Barre, Massachusetts.

The existing house and a new garage and sunroom addition provided multiple interior and exterior connections. Gracious stone steps cut through native boulder walls connecting the patio to the open lawn, and large perennial beds provide endless bouquets of cut flowers. An entry courtyard blanketed in peastone provides access to a more private rear patio and additional perennial gardens. Redbud, winterberry, sweetfern, and blueberry are used to create enclosure, and the perennial borders include sturdy favorites such as brown-eyed-susan, iris, purple coneflower, salvia, and lady’s mantle.
