In 2009, Gardenform worked closely with Boston-based landscape designer Matthew Cunningham to construct his design for a gorgeous property perched above Somes Sound, partially within the formal boundaries of Acadia National Park in Downeast Maine. The project received a Merit Award from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects in 2012.

This project’s mission was to thoughtfully restore a landscape that had been severely damaged during a series of major storm events. Gardenform coordinated and installed site-wide drainage and infrastructure improvements, carefully graded landforms, and stabilized the entire site. Walking paths invite contemplative strolling and lead to overlooks and secluded gathering spaces. Native slabs of antique granite are used to build walls, steps, and terraces, and a strict palette of indigenous plant materials was used to stitch natural site-systems back together.
